Last year's "Growing Greatness" Gala Held on June 7, 2015
Soille Hebrew Day School's Gala celebrating the school's 52nd year was held on June 7th at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park where 300 attendees were treated to a beautiful evening of Auctions, Dinner, Tributes and fantastic student art. Highlights of the event included honoring Rafael "Rafa" Guerrero, a grandparent who volunteers to teach students how to garden, and Naomi Maisel (HD Class of 2008) who has implemented a program at Emory University in Atlanta, where she now studies, to donate unused food from the campus to local charities in Atlanta. That project won her recognition in Georgia as a "sustainability innovator."
|| "When I see that students have a strong curiosity and desire to learn about the beauty of nature and agriculture, it gives me great hope for our future generations."

||"Tonight's honorees provide exemplary role models for our students to learn from. Naomi Maisel devotes her considerable talents and energies to redirect food to others who are hungry, to creating community gardens, to advancing the understanding of neuroscience to promote health and well being."
