Science Fair

shaniSoille Hebew Day’s award winning science program was dedicated in 1971 by Leonard and Ruth Zanville, who felt that the most important lesson of the Holocaust is for all to remember that brilliance in science and technology must always be connected to ethics and morality. The Zanvilles felt that by choosing Soille Hebrew Day they would be certain that these future scientists will apply their knowledge and learning for the good of mankind.

These 21st Century skills are also highlighted as part of the Soille leadership program. Soille Hebrew Day School alumni give great credit to the school’s science program and their experience in entering the County Fair for their future success.

“Their academic accomplishment reaches beyond science,” said Bessler. “The students have shown resilience in coping with setbacks, shown creativity in interpreting and applying data, and shown grit in toughing through the confusing moments which are always a part of scientific inquiry.”

Since 1963, Soille San Diego Hebrew Day has championed Jewish day school education: instilling Jewish values and inspiring students to aim for excellence in a value-based, family environment. The school serves children from infants through eighth grade, and offers scholarship assistance to families to make a Jewish day school education affordable to all.
