Standardized Testing:

At San Diego Hebrew Day School, we are dedicated to providing each student with a personalized, high-quality education that fosters academic excellence and growth. As part of this commitment, we utilize NWEA MAP Growth Assessments for students in grades K-8 for General Studies, to track and support their progress.

Our middle school students consistently achieve exceptional results(it could be higher as there are several students that need to make up assessments in middle school due to illness):

Math: Median scores in the 81st percentile
English Language: Median scores in the 82nd percentile
Science: Median scores in the 80th percentile

San Diego Hebrew Day School is also committed to fostering excellence in Judaic Studies by providing meaningful assessments that track student growth and proficiency. As part of this commitment, students in grades 3-8 participate in the JSAT (Judaic Studies Achievement Test), a comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate core Judaic knowledge and skills. Each grade level’s JSAT exam is tailored to measure specific areas of Judaic learning, ensuring students are progressing in their studies.

The JSAT assessment is a valuable tool in guiding instruction, refining curriculum planning, and ensuring that our students are on track in their Judaic Studies journey.

County Science Fair

Each year, our 8th-grade students participate in the school science fair, which consistently results in a 95-100% acceptance rate to the San Diego County Science and Engineering Fair. From there, at least one student annually qualifies for the prestigious California State Science Fair, an event open to only the top 1% of students in the state. Hebrew Day has proudly maintained these outstanding achievements for over 25 years.
