Admissions Process

In order for a new student to be considered for enrollment, the following must be completed:

All Applicants- Preschool, Elementary and Middle School:

Submit completed Application for Admission form to SSDHDS

Submit non-refundable tuition deposit of $550 per child

Submit a copy of applying student’s up-to-date immunization record

Kindergarten - 8th grade Applicants

Submit a completed Authorization for Exchange of Information form to SSDHDS. Located at www.hebrewday.org- under Admissions, Admission Process, Admissions Forms.

Have Recommendation Forms completed and submitted to SSDHDS by the applying student’s current teachers. Located a www.hebrewday.org- under Admissions, Admission Process,Admissions Forms.

2nd - 8th grade Applicants

Submit current school’s records, including report cards, academic and/or behavioral evaluations, etc.

Schedule an appointment for the applying student to visit with their current grade for an entire school day and participate in an academic assessment at SSDHDS. Contact Beth Licha to set this up- blicha@hebrewday.org.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade Applicants

Schedule an appointment for applying student to participate in a readiness assessment at SSDHDS. Contact Beth Licha to set this up- blicha@hebrewday.org.

Admissions Policies

Each child is individually evaluated through assessments done at our school as well as from confidential recommendations and transcripts from the previous school. The key determining factors for admission are:

· Age- the child must be of age on or before September 1st (ie: Kindergartners must be age 5 by September 1, 2017)

· The child’s social, emotional, cognitive and developmental skills

· The child’s academic abilities

Space is very limited in both our Preschool and Day School. Priority is given to:

· Siblings of current SSDHDS students

· Children and siblings of SSDHDS alumni

· Applications submitted by February 1, 2017
