Opportunities for Giving
With many programs and initiatives to choose from, you have the ability to align your personal philanthropic interests with your support of Hebrew Day. Whether its curriculum or program based, scholarships, or unrestricted support, our goal is to connect our supporters with fulfilling giving opportunities.
Annual Fund
San Diego Hebrew Day School’s Annual Fund provides the critical resources needed to fulfill our Mission each and every year. Your gift to the Annual Fund allows us to enhance our educational programs and curriculum, our facilities, and helps us provide financial assistance to those in need.
Directed Giving
In addition to the supporting our Annual Fund, which provides funding for our most crucial areas, Hebrew Day also offers the ability to designate your gift toward a specific cause or program:
• Educational Technology Upgrades
• Faculty Professional Development
• Faculty Retirement Fund
• Rabbinic Faculty
• Science Program
• Student Scholarships
Legacy Gifts
Legacy gifts ensure the financial strength of San Diego Hebrew Day School for future generations of learners.

"My middle school years at Hebrew Day continue to impact my professional leadership in significant ways. I learned to ask the right questions, to always welcome the stranger, and to become strongly connected to Israel and the Jewish people."

Annual Funding Needs
Annual Fund income closes the gap between tuition and expenses and enriches the education of every student. The approximate gap between tuition and the real cost of a Hebrew Day education is $4,000 per student.
Donations to the Annual Fund provide:
• Tuition Assistance for families who would not otherwise be able to afford a Day School education.
• State-of-the-art Technology in every classroom
• Meaningful Professional Development for educators
• An unrivaled K-12 Science Program
Annual giving ensures that Hebrew Day can maintain its 59-year reputation of providing an exceptional educational experience.
Each student’s education is financed by tuition and annual giving support. Because of our unparalleled commitment to ensure all families who want to enroll at Hebrew Day can do so – regardless of their ability to pay – we depend on significant philanthropic support to make our high-quality educational experience accessible.
Because of our commitment to serving the entire Jewish Community, at Hebrew Day, nearly 70% of families receive some type of tuition assistance. According to a recent UCLA study, on average, independent schools across the country provide financial assistance to 25% of their student body.
While we are proud to make our engaging Torah-based education accessible for so many students, our commitment to equity means we must secure significant private funding to support annual operations.
Each year, approximately 20% of Hebrew Day’s operating budget comes from private philanthropy. It is your support that makes the Hebrew Day experience distinctive for every child.
